Production

Asphere production is carried out by grinding and polishing using CNC-machinery. We use standard optic machinery which are modified and networked by our control system.

Our measurement tools are both tactile and interferometrical systems. The production cycle begins by checking all intermediate goods and applying the glass substrate onto a precision carriage, the so-called mount. 

In the first step, the intended aspheric form is ground. In this stage, tactile systems are used to measure the surface. After having finished the measurement the lens is polished in a CNC polishing machine.

Afterwards, depending on the precision level, the lens is measured using either the interferometrical or tactile measuring system. If higher precision is needed, a second polishing process can be effected for correction of the surface. 

Finally, the definite diameter is centred on the CNC-grinding machine. The positioning can be carried out with a precision of a few micrometers. A final cleaning is made with ultrasonic.
