asphericon presents the world’s fastest UV standard asphere at Photonics West 2011 in San Francisco.
Visit the technological leader in the area of aspherical optics at the joint German booth (booth 4601, north hall) at Photonics West in San Francisco. The UV lens (A25-25 FPX) from the SPA™-product line will be shown for the first time at this exhibition.
asphericon SPA™ UV-grade fused silica can be used both with wavelengths as small as 185 nm as well as with larger laser powers of > 1 kW due to the use of quartz. In addition, the designs are made to have limited diffraction for wavelengths from 230 to 408 nm, but can also be used for a wavelength of up to 2,150 nm. The technologically highest level of manufacture is guaranteed through automated productions processes and the most modern tactile and interferometric measurements.
The new SPA™ is made with a diameter and an effective focal length of 25 mm each and can be combined with four different standard coatings. Furthermore, it has an NA of 0.41, which allows for it to be the world’s fastest UV aspheric lens. The lens’ design is optimized for various uses – for example, for prototypes in test apparatuses or for beam collimation and focusing.
