asphericon donates two Germany-scholarships for the University of Applied Sciences in Jena.

asphericon participates in the Germany-scholarship programme of the University of Applied Sciences Jena (FH Jena) - FH Rector Prof. Dr. Gabriele Beibst and asphericon Managing Director Sven Kiontke signed a corresponding agreement this week.

In total, the optics company is committed to five scholarships, two for the winter semester 2011/2012 until the summer semester 2012, and three scholarships for the winter semester 2012/2012 until the summer semester 2013. "The scholarship is an ideal instrument for our own human resources marketing", asphericon Managing Director Sven Kiontke stresses," on this way we are able to establish early contacts with students and potential future specialists. Additionally, we are sustainably developing our excellent cooperation with the FH Jena."

The University of Applied Sciences grants a total of 22 scholarships, taking advantage of the maximum funding offered by the Germany-scholarship, which was established beginning of 2011. In this context, the Federal Government subsidises 0.45 % of students per university, provided that co-funding is acquired from private funds by the respective university. The Federal Government and the sponsor companies share the financing of the scholarships at 50% each. The scholarship holders receive 300 Euro per month over twelve months.

"Five former students are already employed at asphericon, further students support us in various technical and commercial issues in the context of internships, Bachelor or Masters Thesis", says asphericon Human Resource Manager Susann Kurschel. These sponsorships make asphericon one of the seven premium sponsors from the regional economy, which support the scholarship programme of the FH Jena with five or more scholarships.
