LASER World of PHOTONICS

Asphere specialist at the world’s leading photonics trade fair in Munich (Hall B2, Booth 336).

One of the most important marketplaces in world’s laser and photonic industry will open on 23.05.2011. For the twentieth time more than 1,000 exhibitors from over 30 countries will meet at the LASER World of PHOTONICS. asphericon, the technological leader in the area of aspherical optics, will be hosting its own stand – number 336 in Hall B2. The presentation will focus on the standard asphere range asphericon SPA™ and the new service range asphericon optical design.

At the beginning of the year a design update for the standard asphere program asphericon SPA™ was implemented. This gave the standard line a tolerant and more stabile lens design when the wavelength was changed. The entire SPA™ range is also available “off-the-shelf” directly from our warehouse and is therefore the perfect solution for product tests, optimizing customer-specific projects or starting out in aspheric optics. “As well being perfect for use in sophisticated laser applications, our standard series also provides excellent value for money,” says Stefan Klinzing, Head of Sales. “For example, many of our standard optics are designed diffraction limited and feature a significantly better surface precision compared to pressed lenses. This gives us a unique selling points vis-à-vis the other competitors on the market”, emphasizes Klinzing.

asphericon optical design, led by Dr Fuchs, offers the production of optical designs based on customers' desires and new R&D projects. Special emphasis is placed on the optimization of development and production times, quality and financial aspects. Besides the optical design of refractive, diffractive and reflective elements, asphericon’s service porfolio also covers system design specifically to match the requirements of applications involving ultrashort laser pulses. "By integrating the area of optical design, we are now able to carry out in-house production of all relevant elements of aspheric optics", as managing director Alexander W. Zschaebitz explains. "We are not only enhancing our range of services, but primarily reducing the level of communication effort on the part of our customers. We have come much closer to our goal of positioning ourselves as a full-range provider for aspheric optics through this."
