asphericon SPA™ UV-grade fused silica now online available.
asphericon GmbH, a specialized manufacturer of high-precision aspherical components, is adding another line of standard precision aspheres to its online store. The asphericon SPA™ UV-grade fused silica will be available for customers to buy online immediately.
In addition to superb optical characteristics, SPA™ standard precision aspheres offer competitive prices and short lead times. Their addition fills a gap in asphericon's web offering, complementing the popular selection of products already available online and in the market (asphericon SPA™ High-NA, asphericon SPA™ Low-NA).
The use of quartz makes asphericon SPA™ UV-grade fused silica suitable for wavelengths of 185 nm and upward, as well as for high-power laser applications in excess of 1 kW. What's more, all designs are diffraction-limited for wavelengths between 230 and 408nm, but are also usable for wavelengths up to 2,150 nm. Partially automated manufacturing processes ensure consistently high quality and provide scope for cost savings on large orders.
SPA™ are available in 12.5, 25, and 50 mm diameters, each with two effective focal lengths. Four different standard coatings are offered, along with customized coatings. The lens designs are optimized for a wide range of applications: for use as prototypes in test devices, for instance, or for collimating and focusing beams.
